Samir Shehata is a Professor of Clinical Oncology at Assuit University Hospital in Egypt. He obtained his MD and Ph.D. degrees from Assuit University. He is the president of the Annual best of oncology conference since 2008; one of the most important experts meeting in Egypt.
He is an active member in the Egyptian Medical Syndicate Administration, Egyptian Cancer Society Administration, Egyptian Cancer Research Network, Higher Committee of Cancer Control, and he permanently sit on the Faculty Promotional Committee for professors. He is an active member in many professional organizations Including Arab Leukemia Network (ALN), African Organization for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC), European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), Egyptian Cancer Society, Egyptian society of liver cancer (ESLC), Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), and the Egyptian haemato-oncology group (EHOG). Moreover, he is the editor of the Egyptian Journal of Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation, and Alexandria journal of medicine. He mentored more than 25 Ph.D. and 30 MSC postdoctoral candidates and published 42 original research articles and 30 abstracts in international journals.
